Role Overview:

As our Technical Game Designer, you will be instrumental in bridging the gap between game design and development. This role demands a unique blend of technical proficiency and design creativity to conceptualize, prototype, and implement game mechanics, features, and systems. You'll collaborate closely with both designers and developers, ensuring your prototypes are feasible and align with our vision. Your work will be crucial in transforming ideas into playable, engaging experiences that resonate with our audience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prototype and develop new game mechanics, features, and systems using Unreal Engine, ensuring they are both innovative and technically sound.

  • Collaborate with the design team to understand game concepts and requirements, translating them into functional prototypes and eventual final implementations.

  • Utilize your technical skills to solve complex design challenges, making key contributions to the gameplay and overall player experience.

  • Participate in design and development meetings, offering insights and feedback to refine and improve game features continuously.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of programming languages relevant to game design and development, such as C++ and Blueprint in Unreal Engine.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Proven experience as a Game Designer or similar role, with portfolio of prototypes.

  • Proficient in programming and scripting, with extensive experience in Unreal Engine

  • Excellent communication abilities, capable of working closely with both remote design and development teams to bring game concepts to life.

  • A self-starter with a passion for game development and a keen interest in working within the dynamic environment of a startup.

  • Open to the possibility of relocating to Portugal in the future, with comprehensive support from our team.
